Reception attire

Billie, on October 17, 2019 at 2:09 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6
What are your thoughts on reception attire? Ok..I’ve been with my man for 10+ years. All my family knows him and vice versa and we have the same crowd of friends..so it’s not really like a joining party where I need to make an impression. And I don’t like attention on me anyways!! So I honestly wanna just change to like shorts and a shirt..or something comfy..a white romper? P.s. the wedding is in Hawaiʻi so it’s gonna be hot. What are you thoughts?

Wear whatever you want to. It's your call.

I am always an advocate for wearing a pretty dress and enjoying the attention. But i truly feel it's your day and you should do what suits you! If you're most comfortable in a cute romper, do it! It's your wedding and you should do whatever makes your happy. Be yourself Smiley winking Whatever attire makes you feel best and you think you look your best, go with it. But I would still recommend finding a comfortable white dress and being a bit dressier because this is the 1 day where you get to be a total princess and a diva, if you choose, so live it up!

Your wedding is a reflection of you guys as a couple. If a romper or shorts and a blouse is who you are, go for it! When my best friend got married, her wife wore a dress for the ceremony (to appease her parents) and then changed into a suit for the reception bc thats what made her feel comfortable and like herself.

My one one piece of advice—make sure your dress code for your guests lines up with what you’ll be wearing. People might feel awkward (or jealous!) if they’re in heels and cocktail dresses while you’re in something more causal

I would still look cute & festive, you'll take pictures at the reception and want to look good your special day. I knew every single guest coming to our wedding from my husband's side & mine. I wanted to look fancy & bridal for myself and my husband, not for our guests. I didn't have any problems all night, I felt comfy. That being said, if a dress isn't comfy, I bought a cute white strapless lace short romper from TJ Maxx awhile ago. Maybe something like a sundress or a long flowy maxi dress?
