Ready to party!!

Tina, on November 12, 2019 at 3:26 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 16
Hey y’all! I’m so ready to celebrate my bestie who is getting married next year!! I’m planning her bachelorette, which she wants to do in Vegas, and right now it’s looking like the cost is going to be a little over 300 per girl for the hotel alone. It’s killing me! I would love to spend unlimited funds but I’m seriously on a tight budget myself and I’m feeling like a bad friend because I’m afraid I won’t be able to party hardy and cover my friends expenses as well. Am I just being cheap or is 300 for hotel plus costs of food/drink/outings a lot??

You're not being cheap, that is a lot of money. Did you or the bride ask everyone's budgets before asking you to plan a Vegas bachelorette party?

I did, I asked the other girls budgets and they all said they have no budget and that they want to take care of the brides part of the trip as well! Only me and another girl are tight on funds :/

Also, the bride is insisting on a Vegas trip. I offered to plan an outing closer to home but I was denied :/

That's a lot of money and your friend should have been more considerate of everyone's budget before deciding to have a destination bachelorette.

If you and another girl are tight on funds, then the trip should be planned based off of your budgets. Unless the others offer to help make up the difference, but only if they offered. It isn't fair to put the two of you in a bad spot financially just because the others can afford however much. I would talk to the bride about a more budget friendly bachelorette party Smiley smile

If the bride is insisting on a Vegas trip, then she should also be insisting on PAYING for a Vegas trip. Not everyone can swing that and she should understand that. I would never expect my bridal party to pay that much for a party for myself and I certainly wouldn't leave anyone out because they couldn't afford it. My MOH's haven't started planning yet, but they asked me what I wanted. I'm not a partier and I told them I just want a night in with all of them with lots of junk food, corny girl games, movies, wine, really just a big girls slumber party type thing. I think the bride is being a little unreasonable.

That's great you want to do this for her; however, her expectations are unreasonable. What needs to happen is for you to discuss everyone's budget and then base where you go and what you do on everyone's budget, not the bride's whim. Also, usually the rule is that if the bride wants a destination bachelorette party then she is supposed to pay for her own way to minimize the burden on the rest of you. It sounds like some serious discussions need to happen both between you and the bride and you and anyone else who will be contributing to make sure whatever you do is affordable for everyone.

Thank you! I have talked to the group, and everyone has no budget but me and one other girl who have a tight budget. I’ve already been made to feel bad bc I was unsure if I could cover the brides portion of the trip, and now I feel like I’ll look like a really bad friend and MOH for not having the money :/

Have you thought about getting an Airbnb in Vegas? My friend had her bachelorette party in Vegas this year and we got a Airbnb that was super cheap and near the Rio. So a little off the strip but still close enough to walk or Uber. That would help with costs.

I don’t think it’s necessary for you to pay for the bride if she wants to do a destination bachelorette. I plan to also do a destination bachelorette, but I will be paying for my transportation + stay there! I wouldn’t expect my MOH or bridesmaids to pay for it. Even if they offered, I’d say no. However, if that is the case, I would recommend checking for hotels on Priceline, Expedia, and/ or Travelocity. Those websites tend to have the best deals!

Have you looked into Airbnb? This is a great way to save on lodging?

That is crazy. Here is an airbnb right on the strip for $55 a night. Idk how many people you have, but there are so many options that will allow you to be right near the strip, have all the same experiences, and not break the bank.

Here is one for $159 that literally connects to the Cosmo!
