View Quoted Comment We’d been dating almost two years at that point, and both love the outdoors! Several of our dates have been picnics, including our first anniversary! FH has been saying for awhile that he wanted to go on a picnic and he planned a date for us (complete with chocolate strawberries!!) I was a little suspicious but he threw me off easily by saying he hadn’t had much time to ring shop yet and was thinking that instead of aiming for an October 2019 wedding it’d be more like spring of 2020. I was sad, of course, but understood because he’s super busy.
His best friend’s girlfriend had sent us this song a few months back and said she thought of us every time she heard it! Needless to say, I think FH agreed 😊
On April 1, 2019, he took me to this park near our house and he set up the phone to video us dancing. I always wanted videos of us dancing, and he brought my Bluetooth speaker so that we could dance. Little did I know, he’d been talking to my sister (photographer!) and had the proposal planned literally to the minute. He’d made a playlist of our favorite songs, including the song we’d chosen for our first dance (I Swear by John Michael Montgomery) and when that came on I was hoping he would propose but he didn’t. He’d set the songs in an order so he could tell my sister she had 13 minutes from the time we started dancing until the proposal. Once This Is It came on, he dropped to his knee and said “Courtney Nicole Miller, you’ve made me happier than I ever thought possible. I want to spend the rest of my life making you as happy as you’ve made me. Will you marry me?” I OF COURSE said “wait! Is this a joke?!? YES!!” (It was April fools after all) but he did everything PERFECTLY and I never once told him how I’d want to be proposed to. He is amazing and I am so so SO excited!

TL;DR - he planned a picnic for us and had my sister take pictures while he recorded it on his phone. I love him 🥰

5) had my family waiting at home with champagne
