Premarital Counseling

Amy, on January 23, 2026 at 1:35 PM Posted in Married Life 0 4

Hi! My fiance and I have had trouble getting along and I am having second thoughts because he's been super difficult since we have gotten engaged about a lot of things. I wonder if premarital counseling could help. Has anyone done this and does it help? If so if you would not mind recommending someone that would be great and thanks!

Definitely premarital counseling is useful and even important. The counseling can make sure you two have equal ideas whether to have children and what concepts for work. There can be difference of religious practices and family holidays. It is not always planning on how to do these items but often just how decisions will be made.

It also is critical if you may be encountering issues during the engagement. These can just be differences of opinions in wedding planning. They could be areas that often are not addressed by couples until after marriage. But you certainly can get help in counseling to determine what the dynamics could be and whether they are major issues or passing problems.

Yes we have the same thing happened to me as well. My now husband showed up for many of the sessions, and then he started acting up. Then he started missing sessions just when was almost towards the end. Started acting weird we had last minute decisions to make and he was M.I.A on me for almost a month. I was desevated because things that we had to get done. Then he appears he called the premarital pastor who also was marrying us. Then he was present for everyone there after then I talked to him and asked him if he still to marrying me. Because over 13,000 was already despoited too our venue and carter's and bakery my makeup artist and hair. Then my last fitting. But I was all in said yes baby I do,then he where there for everything else. And he was the early one who was at the church bc our had a water problems and it wasn't going to be ready. He apologized to me for his behavior and begin absent. And we gotten married, but now we are finally planning our honeymoon.

That sounds like it helped that he could call on his own and maybe share concerns he had not been ready to share together. Is that an option mentioned during counseling?

Anyhow, it is great that your marriage has been working out.
