Postponing - When to Create a Registry

We did the same thing as you and I truly didn't expect all the registry questions this year. I thought people would wait since they weren't actually at our small ceremony but we got a ton of gifts this year. I would definitely make one so you have it if people ask and then if they don't you can always save it for next year.

I would definitely make one this year. We had already started one before covid, so we didn't have to make a decision, but I was kind of expecting to only get shower gifts this year and that people would send us wedding gifts after they get the invitations next year. I guess that's mostly how it's working out, but we have already gotten about 10-15 wedding gifts. I'm glad we have a registry because people who want to buy us things are buying things we like.

I am unsure what to do about this as well. With all the reorganizing of now having a mini ceremony this year and our original plan next year, I didn’t even think about a registry. I think I have decided since I want to have my bridal shower next year when it’s HOPEFULLY safer to do so, I am going to wait to make a registry until then. Mainly because I want to have my bridal shower like everyone else before this pandemic hit damn it! I am waiting until next year for the bachelorette party as well.
