Post-proposal party?

I’m currently working on planning my proposal. I know my partner wants a private proposal, so my plan is to have a friend take her out for the day so I can set up and propose to her in our backyard when she gets back.

Here’s where I’m conflicted—while I agree with and also want a private proposal, I feel like I’m going to be so excited afterwards that I’ll want to go out and celebrate with friends right away. What are everyone’s thoughts on a post-proposal party—say I rent out the mezzanine of a brewery we like and have our friends gather there while I propose, and then go meet them to celebrate about an hour or so later?

That's so sweet! We had a small get together with friends when we got back from our trip (the one we got engaged during). I would definitely throw out the idea once you pop the question.

Hey Sarah! Congratulations on your (almost) engagement!!
I think it’s such a great idea to celebrate with those close to you after you get engaged. Try and think about what you and your partner would decide upon together if you were planning this, that might help!

This sounds really sweet and thought out! If you think she will enjoy this, I would definitely go for it. I was also the type who wanted a private proposal but I would have enjoyed something like this for sure.
