Pampered Chef Shower - Very Positive Experience

Lindsey, on June 11, 2018 at 10:26 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 11

I wanted to write about the wonderful experience I had with my Pampered Chef shower this weekend. After reading some of the past posts on the WW forum which were negative - I was hesitant on what this shower might entail.

The shower was amazing and fun! I didn't have to worry about any shower games that would be embarrassing. The Pampered Chef rep was very personable and when she talked about the items in the catalog she made sure to reference things I had picked out or wanted. The rep and myself made the Clubhouse Chicken Squares (amazing!)... My cousin and aunt had a table setup at the front/guestbook area with the items that were on my registry and people could pick up the cutout of the item they wanted to buy - write their name on the back, put it in a gift bag and I got to read/announce the gifts that we received at the end of the shower and thank each person in person. (Your shower hosts need to organize the gift opening part - that's not part of the PC's normal shower experience)

By doing the food/product demo - I got to try out some of them PC items that we hadn't registered for but fell in love with. I know every month Pampered Chef has different promotions.. but I wanted to share that I had qualified to receive $480 in free product and five items at 50% off... We got 15 items that are free and we we are going to be buying the pot and pan set that sells for $450 for $225. Smiley smile

The experience was also very easy for anyone that couldn't attend the shower, they were able to buy things online before the shower and earmark them as their gifts.

The Pampered Chef consultant was extremely nice, focused on me and items I wanted and traveled an hour one way for my shower. She wasn't pushy about sales, very genuine.

She's currently helping me get the best deal for my purchases...

Trust me I had my guard up and was confrontational about not wanting it to have it feel like a PC party in my initial phone conversation with her.... I had based my perception of what it would be like on the other posts and comments that were on WeddingWire... that's why I wrote my testimonial this morning. It was nothing sales pitchy or awkward like others had said.

But it doesn't matter. Of course she wasn't sales pitchy, she knew she was going to make sales because people wanted to buy you gifts. She didn't need to be because sales were guaranteed. And she profited off this!

Yes - but I rather have a local stay at home mom that is passionate about what she does and educated on the products make money - than a Target, Amazon or Bed Bath and Beyond.

Unless your guests make homemade gifts to give you - someone is going to profit off the items bought for a bride at a shower. LOL Whether it be a big chain store or someone local.

Plus it overall was less work for my aunt an cousin for hosting it because they didn't have to come up with games or food (just groceries and beverages) and their house.

All of my items were $100 or less 75% of them were under $50.00.

** The reviews on my PC pots and pans set are so much better online (on and off PC website) - than what I had read for the set we registered from Bed Bath and Beyond... and since I get them for half off you can't beat it.

I’m glad it went well for you! It makes sense to me that she made money because she was doing her job. Just like you would have paid to rent a room or tip a waitress at a restaurant for your shower

Exactly!!! I don't know how people have gotten so skewed on the thought that the rep makes money on the shower, if I hadn't had a Pampered Chef Shower - Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Target would have benefited and made money.

Thank you for your inputSmiley smile

I think its because for some people the host of the shower is the PC rep. Here it seems like you don't know the rep personally so, I don't see a problem with it as like you mentioned it is no different then BB&B or something similar making a profit on purchases.

Where it can get icky is if your MOH for example is a PC rep on the side, and she then offers to throw you a PC shower. The host of your shower (your MOH in this example) would then be profiting off of your guests. I can understand how some people may be uncomfortable with that setup.
