One year anniversary photo shoot

brieliz, on November 6, 2017 at 2:14 PM Posted in Married Life 0 11

As my one year approaches, I'm thinking of doing a one year anniversary shoot. How many of you are doing this/plan to or did do this? Do you think it is worth the money?

We would get it done at the same place we got married. My thought is to do it at various milestones: 1 year, 5 year, 10 year, etc and see how we age, etc.

I also did get some beautiful pictures outside during our wedding, but due to the 6 inches of snow, some specific backgrounds weren't available due to areas not being plowed yet.

Curious on everyone's thoughts!

This is an interesting idea! Would you wear your wedding dress, and you H wear is wedding outfit?

I know we plan to do an anniversary shoot because our photographer included in our package. It was supposed to be an engagement shoot, but we were planning from across the country and had already booked a separate photographer local to us for e-pics. Our wedding photographer changed it to an anniversary shoot so we could make plans to do a future shoot with her when we could be in the area.

@EM I was bouncing around with the idea, but ultimately I think I'd just do an outfit, similar to an engagement shoot. I don't want to have to spend the money to rent the tux and then teach my husband how to do a corset and squeeze back into it lol

Never gave it a thought, but I don't hate the idea. I do plan on doing boudoir, and a pregnancy shoot (if the time ever comes). Then of course one with the family. The worth can only be determined by you - the cost of getting your hair/makeup done, the cost of a photographer, your time, what will you do with these photos, etc.

I think maybe a bigger milestone like 10 years might make more sense to us.

We're thinking about doing the same at our venue. No suit or wedding gown though.

Love them, O&S! I didn't realize those were 1 year anniversary pics. I thought those were your e-pics. Gorgeous.

I think it's a great idea and allows you to relive your wedding in a way. Reminisce and compare photos from year to year. I think it'd be a fun way to celebrate your anniversary.

I think that's a great idea! Not sure I would dress in the wedding clothes again, but I think it would be something special to look back on.

O&S that shoot is amazing! I'm leaning toward doing it but going to talk to my husband. The hotel we got married at has a special "1 year anniversary" rate for any couple who got married there that is already booked. So adding the shoot for the next day may be worth it, and I really like the idea of doing it every 5 years thereafter.
