But if you don't feel as though you liked working with your photographer, maybe look for a new photographer? A different photographer might make you feel more comfortable in front of a camera, and might provide more direction. Another option is to ask your current photographer if they can give you more direction on poses/where to stand/etc for future (and maybe set up another engagement photo shoot to make sure you are happy with the amount of direction they give).

It is nice to have a mixture between the photos from afar & up close, which you don’t have with this photographer! I also feel the quality of the photos are not that good, I personally would
go with a different photographer that fits your needs

I think that the photos are lovely for a Facebook profile pic or an Instagram post, but I will admit that they don't look super professional. You guys look super cute and very happy, but the photographer could have done a better job of posing you, editing the photos, and choosing better angles.

I think the photos turned out really good. You guys look great. But I say if you aren't happy about them and unsure to have the photographer take your wedding photos then don't go with them. Trust your gut and find someone else because you probably won't be happy with the wedding photos.

I agree with Caytlyn, I think these look like lovely photos if they were taken by a friend on a phone. I don’t think the quality (lighting, editing, posing, framing) are of a professional quality.

I like some better than others but I get what you are saying. Some don’t have the “professional” look. I definitely would have a sit down with the photographer and maybe give them examples of specific pictures that you would like from the wedding

I agree that these don’t look professional- not that they aren’t cute pictures of the two of you, but photography can be really expensive and you deserve to get the quality you are paying for. Is this what the other pictures on the photographers portfolio look like?
I would look for another photographer because you definitely want to love your wedding pictures and I would be concerned this photographer wouldn’t be able to deliver the quality expected. I feel like I’m always awkward in photographs, but a good photographer should be able to help you make small adjustments with pose and positioning. I would still use these photos on social media like a pp said, they are cute. Good luck!

Thank you everyone for your comments! I agree that my fiancé and I look happy and the scenery is gorgeous! I’m glad to know I’m not crazy for thinking the photos didn’t seem to have that professional grade quality to them. This photographer was on the cheaper end, probably shouldn’t have tried to bargain shop when it comes to photography 🙃 I also was super nervous in front of the camera and that seems to be showing a bit in some photos. It looks like a sit down with the photographer is the first step, possibly doing a reshoot, and re-evaluating our options based on the reshoot. Thanks again! ❤️

Y’all look great, but the photo quality isn’t there. here’s my advice:
A true professional knows how to work the couple into great poses and make it look natural. Their should be a variety of full length, 3/4, and close-ups to choose from. The quality doesn’t look professional, and I think you 100% will be happier with a different photographer for your super special day.

I really like the pictures of the two of you in front of the blue doors, especially with the colors you wore. They are definitely the best composed and you two look so happy and natural. However, I also agree that these are not what I would expect from a professional and look as though a friend took them. I don’t necessarily think she’ll be getting better, as it looks like there’s some pretty major editing and posing issues. I would look into spending more on another photographer that you’ve seen full albums from and who you and your fiancé really get along with. Your wedding photos will be something you look back on for years and years, and I would hate for you to not be happy with those memories because of a poor photographer.

I think there are a couple that look a little awkward, but overall beautiful, I definitely think she should’ve done more close ups, did she and just not share with you?

Honestly, they look good, but not at a professional level good. Not very focused and looks like they did no editing. I will say it all depends on your budget and what your willing to pay for. I looked at $1000 photographers that were decent and $2000 photographers that were amazing. We decided to splurge on the photos. If your second guessing, then keep looking around because your wedding photos will hang on your walls for a lifetime. You don’t want to spend a lifetime hating your wedding photos.

You guys look adorable and make a beautiful couple. Ultimately if you aren’t thrilled with the result of the engagement photos you should seek elsewhere, otherwise that feeling might come up again on your wedding day. I’ve always thought that asides from the memories, your wedding photos will be the only thing left from that day so for me the photographer was a top priority. I will admit that although the photos are beautiful they don’t scream professional photographer to me. There’s something off with the lighting and sharpness of the pictures you shared.

The right photographer should help you to feel comfortable and relaxed. It doesn’t sound like this is the right photographer for your big day.

I actually love them...I think you guys look great! Now you can have this very same conversation with your photographer. Hopefully they're skilled enough and can take the feedback and actually make adjustments to your liking. Adding a few more close ups is easy...I wouldn't worry!

I love them! However, if you prefer more candid or emotion filled and intimate photos I would communicate that! They come across as a little staged and probably don’t show that love that you want to be seen and felt by looking at them! Photos are the one thing that you have to look back on after your day ends, be sure that you will be pleased with them you’re a beautiful couple!
