Nostalgia Registering!

I mentioned in a previous post that I have been choosing things for my registry that I remember from my grandmothers' kitchens related to the holidays. I now realize that nearly my entire registry is things I remember seeing in either of their homes. One is Greek, and a friend commented to me how Greek some of my dinnerware items and decor look. The other is just a wonderfully classy woman who loves blown glass, and I have found myself adding that too. I didn't mean to at all, I totally thought my registry would just be my own personality, but I have actually found this really comforting. Both of my grandmothers are in poor health and no longer live at home, and my grandfathers have passed, so this helps me feel like I'll always have them close and my kids will "know" them in a way, even though they will likely never meet. So if my house ends up looking a little old-fashioned and half-Greek, so be it!
