My bachelorette trip is scheduled for July to New Orleans. I bundled through Expedia (flight and hotel, including trip insurance) for $460/pp

We stayed in the garden district off Magazine Street and loved it! A little out of the way but the streetcar can take you right to the Quarter and downtown Smiley smile We really liked the architecture of the garden district too! Have fun!!!!

Definitely go to Mardi Gras world, see a burlesque show, and if you can do a jazz brunch on a steamboat cruise

It’s a super convenient way of getting around! We bought something called a Jazzpass from the public transit app and it lets you use the buses and the steetcars for 3 days for only $9! This was in May 2019 for reference but hopefully it’s still as cheap when you go Smiley smile

    Hi Shelra!

My ladies and I had planned and booked our 2020 Essence Bachelorette Party and as of yesterday it was announced that New Orleans is flooded with Coronavirus cases and the festival has been postponed and the city shut down. I pray you haven't put any money down as of yet. My bridal party are my step-children and daughter and I think its going to be a fight to get my funds back. https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/festivals/9345573/essence-fest-2020-postponed-coronavirus

Hopefully all you AMAZING Brides and I are able to do something else Prior to our wedding! Lets stay POSITIVE!

Thank you You would think so. I pray they do.
My take on this is even if that they are postponing the festival until it August September or October. there’s so many people out of work who is going to have the money to fully enjoy New Orleans so sad very distressing. I may be furloughed in the coming weeks.

Congratulations ☺️ New Orleans is my hometown. There are some amazing air bnb’s that would be fun and cute for everyone to be in together; but if you want to go the hotel route I recommend looking into The Pontchartrain, Henry Howard, The Saint or Moxy. The first 2 are in the garden district & the other are downtown. The Hyatt and Higgins Hotel are the 2 newest, both located in the central business district.

The list of things to do never ends, also depends on when you would be here. It’s also really hard to go wrong with where you decide to eat, also a never ending list. I’ll be happy to send you a list. Beignets are nonnegotiable lol you don’t necessarily have to go to Cafe Du Monde, but that’s where you’ll find the traditional/original ones. There’s a place called The Vintage on Magazine St. and they serve them with champagne and it’s a cute spot for a Bach party to hangout. So is Effervescence, a stylish champagne lounge. If you’re more of a wine lover, definitely check out W.I.N.O, it’s a wine tasting bar.

Hi well today I got a notice that essence officially canceled they will not be postponing it for any date this year it’s just plain canceled and they’re saying they’ll be refunds so my fingers are crossed. Next on my agenda I am booking our honeymoon for St. Lucia. But I am hearing on CNN that they’re saying there may be a social distancing until 2022 I’m also hearing that event sporting functions will not be able to be held in cities until May 2021 this is so depressing but I’m staying positive. But in the next month I am more than likely going to be calling the vendors to look at dates that they were made the openings for next year I am very upset about this. But very distraught by all the deaths around the world. To the point I feel guilty even thinking about celebrating praying on it will make decisions in the next 30 days for those who is reading this post check the updates check the updates and plan accordingly God bless you all and stay safe!

I cancelled my trip to NO. I had a friend go there recently and he said only a handful of restaurants were open. I didn’t want to go if I couldn’t have the fill experience. Instead, my friends and I rented a beautiful home in Asheville, NC over looking the mountains. We visited the Biltmore, had paint night, a glow party, lots of shots and they brought NO to me! We had an amazing time. New Orleans Bachelorette trip 1
