Nervous bridesmaids won’t have fun at bachelorette party

Jennifer, on August 3, 2021 at 1:55 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 14
We had a lot of trouble agreeing on what to do for bachelorette party and covid wasn’t helping with our plans. My MoH and I decided to just do a tropical themed backyard party at my place. There will be 6 of us, I have a hot tub and we’re going to set up an inflatable pool and we have a guy friend who is going to be our bartender for the day he’s awesome at mixing drinks and have a bunch of tropical themed drinks picked out, and we have a bunch of decorations to deck the place out with a tropical songs playlist. We are going to get famous Dave’s catered and are planning a couple of games with prizes and gifts for each bridesmaid. My MoH and I are nervous though because some of my bridesmaids aren’t really partiers and all of them have not really had the chance to get to know each other, I’m nervous that it might just be awkward silence and maybe people won’t have fun and will want to leave as soon as food and games are over. Am I over thinking it? I personally think it sounds like fun but i just worry everyone else won’t think so since it’s not like a big extravagant getaway.

I think that sounds super fun! They all have at least 2 thing in common: they are all important people to you. Personally, I would do that over an extravagant (and expensive) trip any day!

I think this sounds like a lot of fun!!! I love this idea! Smiley heart you may be overthinking it! Let everything flow naturally - maybe add some fun ice breakers to start the night off? Good luck and enjoy yourself!

It's a small enough group that I think people can get to know each other a little bit. Since they are all your friends, but not too familiar with each other, take some time to think about commonalties they may have. Like if one friend reads Regency Romance and one friend is a Jane Austen fan they may have fun discussing the two genres? Or two of them may have gone on a vacation to the same place at different times? You can bring those things up when you introduce then to each other, that sort of thing.

I am doing this for the seating chart at the reception, trying to seat people together who will find each other interesting or be familiar with hobbies, etc.

That sounds fun and very easy going even for shy bridesmaids or ones who don’t know each other!

Please. From someone who hates being put on the spot. Do not do ice breakers. They are extremely stressful for a lot of people.

Honestly, your party sounds amazing and I expect that your bridesmaids will be perfectly happy to chat and whatnot. Remember - they all love and support you and they're all going to be there to celebrate. It'll be a great time Smiley smile

That sounds like soo much fun!!! Why wasn’t I invited??? LOL! Only other thing I would do is have a nonalcoholic drink- besides that it seems like all your bases are covered!

This is the perfect way for them to get to know each other so its less awkward at future wedding events! My friend had a projector showing a movie on the side of her garage so if there was a lull, people could look at that to avoid awkwardness. Or keep them busy with games!

I think as the bride, your mood creates the vibe of the event. So if you’re having a great time and letting loose, that attitude is contagious and other guests will too! Everyone is excited to celebrate you so I definitely wouldn’t stress about it.
