Name changing...?

We just got married on Saturday, and I am a bit nervous that I signed the marriage license wrong.
I didn't see any spot that said to put the name I would be taking. After the ceremony we signed the license and I signed with my maiden name. Should I have signed with my new name? Literally no where on that license does it say that I intend to change my name.

Is this okay? I thought I'd have to put it on there somewhere...

From what I know, signing the liscense enables you to change your name. You’ll still to send it in to get the marriage certificate, and then once you have the certificate you need to apply for a new social security card, etc.

Each state is different. Mine did not indicate the name i was going to take either. Once you’re married and get the paper turned in, you’ll get your certificate. That certificate will allow you to change you name at SS and DMV. Don’t stress

I did not sign anything with my intended last name - only the one that was current. Many people don't even decide to change their name until after the wedding, so it wouldn't make sense to sign it with a new name You're fine - most likely if they thought you were making an error they would have stopped you

It depends on the state, but that is fine I think! When you sign the license, you haven't legally changed your name yet but having the license allows you to.

Agree with them. Where I am we put the name change on the application not the actual license and we were told when the official one comes in the mail it'll have my new last name on it. Tou could always call the clerk and ask.
