Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if I can also change my first name while changing my last name after marriage in Illinois? I just want to fix one letter in my first name and I can’t find anywhere if I am allowed to change my first name while changing my last name. Any help? TIA

You can't do it at the same time, you have to run an add in the newspaper - posted a link of what you have to do, there is a lot. You have a court hearing. It would have been better to change your first name before you got your marriage license. My Uncle went through the same thing, he only changed one letter and had to do everything in the link.
