Most expensive item on registry?

Adwoa, on August 13, 2019 at 2:08 PM Posted in Registry 0 18
What’s the most expensive item you have put on your registry? Is there anything as something that is too expensive? Just curious what everyone put!

I think the most expensive thing I had on my registry cost 130 dollars. There were a few things around that price point but they were CONSTANTLY on sale for much cheaper lol. I didn't want or need much. I have seen other registries with items for 200 to 300 dollars being the most expensive. One had an 800 dollar item.

My best advice is to have a variety of price points. You may have something that you think is too expensive on your registry but someone may want to buy it, even as a group gift.

Our set of pots and pans was $475, vacuum was $350, duvet insert was $300, and duvet cover was $250. We also had a lot of things that were under $50. In our personal experience our more expensive gifts were purchased first and the cheaper things were left on the registry until someone purchased all of them when it was all that was left. But it’s definitely a know your crowd thing. I think it also depends on how close that person is to you because for us acquaintances purchased things under $100 while parents and grandparents purchased our entire dishes set and silverware etc.

We had a $600 pots & pans set, we made it so guests could contribute to the item (and they did) so we paid $300 to buy it after with cash we were given at the wedding. Someone bought us a $400 dog door off the registry too.

We have a $400+ pots and pans set on our Amazon registry. We chose Amazon because they allow gift contributions so that someone can give us $50 or $100 (or any amount they choose) toward the higher priced items instead of one person or family having to cover it all.

I think too expensive is determined by the people in your life. We don't want much for stuff but added a beautiful bar cart I am in love with for $120. It is the most expensive thing on our registry. I also made it available for people to put money toward the gift so no one feels like they need to spend that much if they can't. I also made sure I put several small things on the list and someone already bought two of the items together that were kind of related. We also have a honeymoon fund, which honestly is what we want most anyway. I expect to see a lot of cards with cash or gift cards in them.

It's pretty much all kitchen stuff: all clad pots and pans, kitchen aid stand mixer, etc. I think the biggest single item the le creuset dutch oven, which is just under $400.

We registered for a $230 Roomba knockoff but in no way do we expect to get it.
But the $100 vacuum would be nice.

Our fine china could be purchased as an 8-person set and that cost around $600. It actually went on sale during the time I registered for it so it was around $300 for a while. One of my friends purchased it. We also had a pots and pans set that was around $300 and Macy's didn't update our registry so we had 2 people purchase those. It is nice to have all price points, even higher ones, so if people want to purchase a gift together they can.

Most expensive thing on ours is a $200 game system. Anything above that seems unreasonable

Fiance has some kitchen gadget around $300. I think it's high but supposedly Amazon gives a discount on your registry if nobody buys it.

Our towels, washcloths, and hand towels totaled over $400. But individually they weren't that expensive. I think our most expensive item would have been our knife block set or set of pans. I think they were both between $300-$400.

The most expensive item on our registry is a $1100 TV. My FH put it on there as joke to see if anyone would get it for him lol.

But in all seriousness, I think the most expensive item is a $200 Le Crueset Cutch oven.

Some of our more expensive items were purchased. One being the kitchen aide with a kitchen aide attachment (around $480), a mini smart oven ($190), and a waffle maker ($90). A few items that we really wanted on the cheaper end wasn't bought.

Sometimes when people put more expensive items on registries the guests will pool money together to get the item
