Minimony + Bridal Shower?

Is it weird to have a Bridal shower after the Minimony at the same event? It was originally planned as a Surprise Wedding Shower and decided to change it to a minimony given COVID. Most of the guests have been updated of the wedding shower prior to the minimony. My FMIL is hosting this. I was never planning on a Bridal Shower in my Original wedding plans. I had to furiously make a registry since Saturday when I found out it was a surprise(I was planning a minimony w/ just the parents) Lots of decisions have been changing... Should I just continue with just the minimony or do both?

"Join us for our minimony and wedding shower to follow"

That seems very odd to me. Weddings are not gift giving events (although yes, gifts are usually given,) and showers are. I think this may be confusing at best, gift grabby at worst.

Hi Lynn! If it's immediately following your minimony at the same event, why not just make it a mini reception instead of a shower? There's drinks and food at both events, just focus less on games and opening gifts (like a typical shower) and mingle instead!
