Marrieds: what are you glad you did?

Of all the details of your wedding and leading up to it, what are things you are happy you decided to do? What are you happy that you eliminated? And is there anything that you wish you did or didn’t include?

I got married in July of 2020, so things had to be kept small (under 20 people.) I absolutely loved it! Although that’s not how we originally planned it, I think we were able to enjoy it more and saved a lot of money as well.

I’ve seen a lot of my answers on this thread already, but one I haven’t seen yet is private vows. We said the usual “richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health” during the ceremony and read our private vows after the ceremony when no one was around except the photographer. It was just a personal moment filled with inside jokes that the guests wouldn’t understand anyway. Neither of us are big on public speaking, so repeating after our pastor was the better option for us during the ceremony.
