Last name conundrum

So hubby and I are going to get the license on Friday!!!!!

Question is...I don't know what to do about my last name.

My fiance's ex wife and I share the same first name so I don't know if I want the same name as her(she did a number on him...😡)

What do you all think?

I wouldn't take her into consideration at all when making decisions for your future. Do what you want, don't give her any sort of control. Maybe you'll get lucky and she will go back to her maiden name.

I agree. She doesn't matter in the slightest. I wouldn't not take your FH's last name solely for that reason. If you want to share his last name, do it!

If you think it will continue to bother you, I would just hyphenate your last name. That way you get his name without having to be the same as her.

Girl I get it. I’m not pregnant yet but in my mind I’m changing my future daughter’s middle name so it won’t be too similar to my fiancé’s ex’s name. I wanted Lydia Nicole but her name was Lindsey Nicole and I have a lot of angry disgusted feelings about the whole situation and what went on there. So I’m finding a different middle name. I know I’m about to be a hypocrite, but I don’t enjoy being angry and letting her have that power. I wish I could mentally move on and I don’t think you should let your fiancé’s ex have that power over you. You’re the new Mrs. now.
