Last minute low key bachelorette party

Molly, on July 10, 2021 at 1:14 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 5

So my fiance is going to a bachelor party tonight and after talking to the bride last night, we found out she's not having a bachelorette party. Most of her family are out of state and aren't coming into town until a few days before the wedding, including her sister who I believe is her MOH. I feel so bad, so I told her we should do something while the guys are out. Like have her come over to my place and we can have some drinks or something. But other then that I'm kinda scrambling to find ideas of what we can do and who to even invite! She would prefer something low key and not like going out to the bars/clubs. So should I decorate, have some snack foods, watch movies?

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

I think that's really thoughtful and lovely of you to think of her. Yes, if she's not into doing anything too major, then I think drinks and snack and movies is totally fine and honestly sounds more relaxing and fun! Do you have any mutual friends that you could ask? Even if they're not super close to her, if they know both of you, it could work just fine. Do you have a friend that you're close to that's really easy to get along with and welcomes everyone? Just thinking some people are just naturals at making people comfortable and they could potentially become friends too.

Low key bachelorette parties are a thing of the past. Thank you for bringing them back. What about going out to dinner or ordering takeout? Stay in and have a spa day, catch up with each other.

    Usually the bridesmaids are invited.

That was so kind of you to offer. I’d invite any mutual friends you have and any other significant others of the bachelor party attendees. I think you could do a few simple decorations—fresh flowers in a variety of vases, textured tablecloths/runners and fairy lights are my favorites for elevating a space without looking too over the top. The Dollar Tree is great for inexpensive party decor/tableware. I’d have a tiara and veil for the bride too!

Do you know what kind of food/drinks she likes? The easiest way to make a night in feel special is to center the snacks and beverages around a theme—i.e. Mexican with tortilla chips and a variety of quesos, salsas, guac, street corn served with made to order margaritas.
Instead of watching a movie, I’d put on a killer playlist and look up some bride/bachelorette themed games to play after everyone chats and mingles to keep the party active.

Where are you located!? Because depending where, there can be SO many different low-key things to do! But I’d first start with having some cute bachelorette decor for your home if that’s where she’s staying with you for the night + a playlist she can dance to✨ Then in terms of going out, here are some options that aren’t clubs or bars: spa, wine & paint, Disneyland/ theme park, renting a boat for the day or evening, kayaking or any other water activities, a nice dinner with a view, play fun bachelorette games (Amazon + Etsy has so many good ones!), picnic on the beach, or a beautiful hike & go someplace to eat after!

I had a super low key bachelorette party. I felt too old for a traditional one. My friends took me to a bakery to design my own cookies, then a nice dinner, and back to a friend's house for movie candy, popcorn, wine and wedding episodes of some of our favorite TV shows. It was perfect for me. Low key doesn't have to be boring with the right people.
