Last minute engagement shoot anxiety--did anyone wear high-waisted jeans?

If that is what you feel most comfortable in on a normal basis then who cares what others think. Getting your picture taken is going to feel unnatural and weird at first so IMO it’s better to be in an outfit you feel comfortable in than an outfit you don’t enjoy. I haven’t had my pictures done yet, but I have seen a lot of people on Facebook posting photos with high waisted jeans and sweaters. I’m sure you’ll look great and your beauty will shine through since you are comfortable in the outfit. Look to your FH for comfort and support during the shoot. I’m sure you’ll be able to feel each other’s love and that’s I’ll help you relax ☺️

Focus on feeling comfortable and creating a memory.

My fiancé and I did a lifestyle shoot for our engagement shoot. He wore a sweater and jeans and I wore my black high wasted jeans and a matching sweater. We were comfy and looked like ourselves. Everyone tells us how unique our pics are and how genuinely happy we looked. I bought mew jeans specifically for the shoot and now when I wear them I think back to that day. Lol hope that helps!

I also wore high waisted jeans and a tucked in sweater! I think it looks fine! As long as your comfortable wearing it, I say go for it!!

Ummm whoever said high waisted jeans are ugly needs to go far away because I live in them! I wore them for mine but I wore an oversized sweater so you can’t really tell they are high waisted. Wear what you feel comfortable in! We were kind of nervous for ours too because it was our first time getting professional photos together, but once we did it we had a blast. Our photographer was really great at making us comfortable (we picked her originally because of our connection with her), she told us to do things like whisper stupid words and phrases into one another’s ear to make each other laugh. So once you start doing it you’ll have a great time!

So true--you're probably right in that I'm likely just worried about the photos/weirdness of it part, more than the outfit! I appreciate your thoughts & kind advice! Definitely so easy to compare yourself to others, but I do need to remember that being happy & relaxed will matter the most in terms of how it all goes

This sounds so lovely, & I'm sure the photos came out amazing! This definitely helps. I also bought new jeans for our photos--the same brand/cut I usually wear, but in a different wash, haha.

This is such a great photo! I appreciate you sharing this. I think you're right that my comfort level is key, & outside of that I need to stop reading people's anti-high-waist social media posts, haha.

Wear whatever you are comfortable in. People making those statements on social media hate everything so ignore them all and be you.

Yes, thank you! I do not get the hatred toward them, haha. I re-looked at my clothes & realized I have maybe 2 pairs of pants that aren't high waisted, & they are work trousers that I dislike & rarely wear.

I saw your photos in a winter engagement outfit thread--they came out beautiful! We're in the same boat about it being our first time having photographs taken, so I'm both nervous & excited. I love those tips, & will have to suggest them to my partner if the photographer doesn't.

Thank you for this--I definitely need to focus on the comfort & my own personality. I'm finding it a bit too easy to compare myself to others & then worrying about it, so having everyone here agree that whatever is fine is so helpful.
