Is a rehearsal dinner necessary?

Jasmine, on May 20, 2019 at 4:22 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

I'm planning to have a small intimate wedding of only 60-70 guests and would like to keep things as simple as possible but still elegant.

There will be no bridesmaids and groomsmen, I'm still on the fence in whether to have a maid of honor and best man.

Since we want to have a simple ceremony, I wonder if a rehearsal dinner is necessary? Thoughts?

If you don't have a rehearsal, there is no need for a RD Smiley smile

We are not doing a rehearsal. We don't have a wedding party and I am planning/writing the ceremony myself. I think the rehearsal and dinner is nice to have, but not necessary in my case.

A rehearsal dinner is only necessary if you're rehearsing.

I don't think it is if you don't have a rehearsal.

We’re doing a rehearsal at the venue, but it’s more to spend time with the people we love. We’re literally going out to a pizza joint afterward - nothing fancy. No toasts there, no favors or anything. Literally a fun night out before the big day.
