How to shut off registry notification emails

Sara, on June 6, 2019 at 2:37 PM Posted in Registry 1 9
FH and I are registered at Amazon & Bed Bath and Beyond and just received an email that something was purchased from our Amazon registry! Curiosity got the best of me and I opened to email and saw what the item was 😂😅 and then I dug a little deeper and saw who it was from. Problem is our shower isn’t until August and I’m a nosy person in general so I NEED to know if there’s a way to turn off those emails! 😂 I wanna be surprised but I also have no self control. Please help! Lol

I'm not familiar with this process but just wanted to mention that it is a good idea to regularly monitor your registries for items being discontinued or going out of stock. This is especially true since you have several months before your shower and wedding. As a result, I don't think you can really "not" look and keep things a surprise.

OMG. IT LETS YOU SEE WHO BOUGHT IT?! if you find out the answer, please post it! we're also registered at BBB and Amazon, but so far haven't gotten any emails. But like you, I'm also very curious. My FH is terrible at picking up packages from our apartment concierge, so I found out about one of my Christmas gifts that way. We also share a desktop computer so I snooped at the history to see exactly what was in that package Smiley xd

Hahaha 😂 if I find out I’ll definitely post. Not sure what bed bath and beyond does since nothings been purchased from there yet. To see who bought it on amazon there was a button at the bottom of the email, or you just to to the “manage thank you cards” section. I was talking to a coworker though and they suggested setting up a folder specifically for those emails and adding a rule where if it’s from Amazon and has the subject line “somethings been purchased from your registry” (word for word what the first email said” it should automatically go to the folder, and then I just have to resist the urge to look in the folder.

Only if you click on it. If you see an email that says "something was purchased off your registry" from Amazon, just delete it!

Haha you sound just like me!! When I got the first email from Amazon saying a gift was purchased from our registry I got SO excited, so I opened it to see what the item was. The same person bought 2 things! But I didn't know you could see who it was!!!! I deleted the email to prevent me from snooping any further lol. Turning off the emails is probably a good idea for me too.

I know its YEARS later but I MIGHT have just figured this out (after 3-4 customer service reps)

I just did it, so I am not sure it works yet. here is what I was told:

check the registry settings on the Amazon Shopping App on your Phone there is a setting that can be toggled: "Yes, I would like to receive email updates about the status of my registry "
