How much to spend on bachelorette favors?

Danni, on June 18, 2021 at 3:11 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7

Hi all!

I'm having my bachelorette the first weekend of August and I'm curious what's the usual budget for party favors? I was thinking of doing tumblers and bottle opener key chains, but it would be over $100. I'm just curious if that's normal/too much/too little.

Not sure if it makes a difference but I've done all the planning & invites and whatnot vs my bridal party, so it would be more of a thank you for coming vs. thank you for planning.

TYIA!

As with the wedding, keep the favors edible if you must have them. Also you are the guest of honor, not hostess so you don’t need to worry about these

I decided to do a favor because I like giving gifts haha. I did a monogrammed round beach towel for each girl, a custom cookie, and a tumbler cup to use for the weekend. Overall it was not crazy expensive for 9 girls and I know they will love it.

I think you’re 100% wrong about this. Favors for the girls attend is a very nice thing to do, and I think they should be edible is just kind of dumb. Do some insulated wine glasses, sunglasses, t-shirts or something. Not something edible only.

I spent $90 for 9 girls, so $10 per person! But I think you should spend whatever feels right for you ❤️ & I’m sure your guests will appreciate anything you give them!

In my area, the normal would be nothing. Most Bach gifts when people do them are either awful bride/ BM stuff, or little junk from the dollar store, promptly discarded my most.
Just as most people have stopped doing wedding favors, shower or Bach favors seen as a waste of money. Better to add your savings to nicer individual thank you gifts, just one at the end.

Where I'm from, it's normal for the bride to not contribute/buy favors for the bachelorette since she's the guest of honor.

I disagree with a couple of people that are against the idea. As a guest, I would love for there to be a gift or something to welcome me to or thank me for coming to the bach. party.

The most common items I've seen are drink coozies, wine tumblrs, drink cups, cute rattan bags, sunglasses, t-shirts, hangover kits etc. If you have a theme for your trip, you could get everyone something that matches the theme!

My sister is getting married and I’m hosting a bachelorette weekend. For most attendees, it’s requiring some significant travel including flights. For some, it’s a shorter drive. We’re splitting the cost of the weekend (all but the bride) as a collective gift to her. I see MY contributions as host to be planning, organizing, and putting a nice basket of travel-friendly beach supplies for the weekend and beyond for the guests as a thank you for joining. I’m spending about $40-50 each because I can, it’s a smallish group, and it feels like a proportionate thank you. I would never expect a specifically sized gift, though, people are all just trying to make things feel special within their means. I think it’s important to gauge your audience, what you’re comfortable with, and what you’re asking then to spend to just participate (there were some bachelorettes in my 20s that made me nervous about paying rent). A thoughtful gift for a local night out could be printed photo strips of the guest and the bride, a monogram keychain— or if you’re strapped, even a Spotify playlist!! Hope this helps, enjoy!!!
