How much are you spending for your rehearsal dinner?

Chanieish, on January 21, 2020 at 11:59 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 17
And who is paying for dinner? What type of food are you having? How many people are invited?

Looking for some ideas and how much to expect to pay. Thank you!!

We served salad, pizza, and pasta for 15 people for about $200. We planned to pay, but my stepdad picked up the tab.

Thanks Caytlyn! Did you have it at your home or a restaurant?

We invited everyone since it was sort of a destination wedding. We had 44 people and spent $500 on Publix catering. It was chicken, sides, s’mores, and drinks.

We paid $3,000. We hosted 70 guests in a private dining space at a local mexican restaurant. That included two drinks per person (beer, wine or margarita), queso & salsa & chips, an entree (we had about 5 choices), and brownies for dessert.

We have about 65 people coming and will pay roughly $500 - $600 for a full meal. My dad has graciously offered to pay for the rehearsal dinner.

We have 45 people coming to our rehearsal dinner, and are deciding between a park pavilion or a banquet room! We might get it catered, or order sandwiches from somewhere. FHs parents are paying for it, and I DON'T want it to be too much! Haven't quite narrowed down the pricing yet, but my goal is below $1000.

We had about 40 people at ours—destination wedding so we decided to invite everyone to a welcome party in lieu of a standard rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. My mom had rented a big house for her side of the family to stay at for the wedding weekend. She hosted the party there and it was awesome—there was a game room with foosball and darts, a big patio and lots of eating and lounging space inside. She and my aunt self-catered and there was a ton of food and wine and beer, including a big candy bar with lots of pink candy and my favorite Irish candy too. They kept it casual but hearty—ziti and sausage and peppers, chips and dips, salad, veggies and dip, a few hot apps. It couldn't have cost them more than a couple hundred for the food, and they already paid for the venue by reserving it for the weekend.

We had approximately 30 people. Pizza, pasta, breadsticks, salad, and open bar at a local restaurant. My parents are awesome and picked up the tab. I think it was around $600-700.

We're doing ours in a private dining room in a nicer hipster-y British restaurant (in downtown SF) for 26 people. Food will be a 4 course family style dinner, $80/person. After wine and taxes and tip, it'll probably around $****. My in-laws are planning to pick this one up.

We included OOT guests as well as the large wedding party. I think we ended up with about 45 guests (wedding was 100 total). We did it at a large local brewery/restaurant chain. They were able to put us is a semi-private room (it was just us for probably the first 2 hours, then they had to start seating regular patrons in some of the booths at the far end of the space). We did a deep dish pizza, salad, pasta, and a chicken entree buffet, and an open-bar. I think it was around $1800. As parents of the bride, we paid for about 80% of the wedding and that included the rehearsal dinner costs.

My brother has opened his home to host our rehearsal so the venue is free. Smiley xd We're doing a DIY Taco Bar Potluck with about 30 people, as we've invited out of town guests as well. We and everyone in the wedding party is helping by bringing a piece of the tacos, like one person is bringing chopped onions, one person is bringing meat, one person will bring tortillas, someone brings cheese, etc. until we have all the fixings we need. We're picking up a gallon each of rice and beans at a local Mexican restaurant and we're grabbing some beer and wine on the way in. And I'm baking a couple dozen cupcakes for dessert. Total cost budgeted: $150 for beans, rice, cupcakes, beer and wine. Our family is always doing potluck-type dinners so it's no skin off anyone's backs to bring $5 worth of taco toppings with them on their way to the party. We're super excited about it and we're saving $$. Most likely we won't even spend the whole $150, but we've budgeted for it!

Our backup plan is to buy 6-8 pizzas, a few family style salads, and still bake the cupcakes. We'd then be over budget, but not by too much since we're serving in-house and not at a restaurant.

We're having our rehearsal dinner catered by our wedding venue and doing it on site the night before. Cost will be about $22 pp for food, and we are estimating about 20 people. My FH's parents offered to pay (its traditional for the parents of the groom to pay) but they are contributing to the cost of our wedding so we said we were just considering part of our bulk wedding expenses and didn't want any extra from them for that. In all we'll probably spend about $500-$600 for the rehearsal dinner.

My future in-law's are paying for our rehearsal dinner. It is going to be the night before at a restaurant on the property of the resort we are getting married on. I'm not sure how much it will cost as they (obviously) didn't share the numbers with us but we are having a duo plate (chicken/steak) along with salad and cake, beer and wine included for 80 guests. I'm assuming it's somewhere between $3000-$3500.

$3700.00 for our rehearsal dinner, it was hosted by my in-laws at an amazing winery. We had 50 people (we had a rather large bridal party) and a few out of town guests were invited. It was beautiful. Wine & beer were provided as well as farm to table dinner.
