How long does an engagement photoshoot session last?

Lindsey, on September 23, 2019 at 7:09 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 12
Trying to figure out what time to book for an engagement shoot, as we are doing ours on a beach! I’m hoping to find out the average duration of a shoot so I can plan accordingly to when the lighting is best outside.

    Your photographer should tell you.

Mine was about an hour and a half. My photographer told me what time was best for lighting. It was in June here in California and we did it about 6:30pm and they turned out perfect.

It depends on your photographer and the package you choose, mine was 1 hour

Mine was an hour, but absolutely ask your photographer. They should have a specific time frame in mind and can advise you when lighting will be best. For example ours strongly suggested we rethink our midday shoot in favor of an evening shoot because the lighting would be too harsh.

Your photographer should be able to tell you this. Since is outdoor I say avoid anytime after 10 am. Make sure you do early morning or close to sunset. The sun between 10 to 4 can be brutal.

Ask your photographer. He or she probably shoots at the beach all the time. Ours was a little under 2 hours and our photographer suggested what time we start at for the best lighting

We had about 2 hours for our shoot. However, it was my photographers who told me the time that we should begin the shoot so that we can get the best light (6-8 pm in California in June). I’d reach out to them to see how long their engagement sessions typically last, then look at the sunset time for the day you want to do it, and plan on the shoot ending a little after sunset.

Ours was maybe 45 minutes. Our photographer chose the time, since she knew when the best lighting would be for pictures.
