I have decided to change my rehearsal dinner plans from having it a hotel banquet hall with all the out of town guest, immediate family and bridal party, to just the bridal party and immediate family members at one of our favorite restaurants. The restaurant I would like to have the rehearsal dinner is 40 minutes away from the venue where we will be having the rehearsal. Is that too far away?

Also, the rehearsal dinner would have to take place before the actual rehearsal. Is that odd?

Thursday would have been great, but after running it by the bridal party. The groomsmen wouldn’t be able to make it. Well half of them because they live out of state and said they will be coming in Friday. So I didn’t even think it made sense at that point. My parents think the rehearsal dinner so far away is crazy. Needless to say. It’s not happening. They have taken over planning of that event.

This place is nicer than some restaurants I’ve been to. Good choice.

We wanted to keep it closer by, so our rehearsal dinner will be at the hotel my family and bridesmaids are staying at that's about 5 minutes from the venue.

We're having our dinner at our venue. But we're also being super casual and ordering pizza.

You really think so? Frankly, I think it's kind of hysterical. I do agree with my friend; I never imagined myself doing anything wedding related in a diner, but this is my in-laws choice. Originally, I was going to have my family and guests do something separate, but I couldn't make up my mind and my in laws already started planning their side's rehearsal dinner there and they invited us to be included in the event, along with all of our out of town guests, family and my 10 person bridal party. So we are having it there.
