How did he propose?

I’ve told this story several times in the forum aha basically my husband proposed at home on a Friday night in where he laid out “marry me?” In petals and candles outside in the yard. And I said yes but I wish you would have waited til I had pants on. Aha since that’s the kicker, I didn’t have any pants on! 😅😅😅 but it’s memorable and funny to us aha. He put the ring on me and then handed me a pair of pants.

He proposed on a pier over the Pacific Ocean with Heart Castle looking down on us my birthday weekend. It was so intimate and special, just he and I.

We were on our first cruise together (my first civilian cruise). It was captain's night so we were all dressed up for dinner. Afterwards we went up to the top deck for photos. It was so cold that I was shivering.
He was laughing at me and as I was walking toward him he said "maybe this will warm you up". That's when he got down on one knee and he was right. It definitely warmed me up 😂

I love that Melle and I just keep telling our stories. We're going to get famous!

DH made me squirrelly. It was pretty clear he was going to propose, but he took his sweet time about it, to the point where I threatened to either get engaged or have to dump a body.

Anyway, he conspired with friends to propose at a NYE party, where we play a game called Topfschlagen. (It's a German game, where everyone brings a little gift. A person picks a gift, they are blindfolded, the gift is hidden under a pot, the person is spun around, and then given a wooden spoon and guided to the floor. The rest of the party helps them with "hot" and "cold" until they find the pot with the wooden spoon. Then they open that gift, and pick the next player.) So, everyone conspired to pick me last (which was suspicious, as DH was picked early, and would always pick me next), so I caught on.

Anyway, he replaced the gift with a ring box, I found the pot, opened my eyes to DH sitting in front of me, and he gave a whole speech, quoting Moonstruck, and proposed.

Went to the poconos for 4th of July weekend in 2019 and he set off a bunch of fireworks and asked me as they were going off

We were on vacation with my parents on a cruise and my mom told me she wanted formal portraits of us while we were on the ship. During the pictures he proposed and I found out it was a whole plan between him and my parents to surprise me! We actually have the picture of him proposing!

At Coney Island beach near our house. We always like to go there at sunset when it’s cooler and not many people are around. We went on our 6 year anniversary last summer and he was very nervous and had acted strangely all day.
We finally went out to the water and he got down on one knee in the water (in the dark) and proposed. I couldn’t believe it!

We had been discussing it for a few weeks and on the way home from picking him up from the train station he asked as we were sitting at a traffic light.
Afterwards we picked out a ring together and when the ring came he got down on one knee in our kitchen and popped the question. I love how both instances are woven so naturally into our everyday life rather than being staged. I’ll never forget that gray rainy evening in the car.

He was doing an Ironman triathlon and I normally go to his races and follow him around at certain spots to take pictures and cheer him on. Before the race he told me he wanted me to take a picture during the run, which I was a little surprised that he wanted to take a picture together as he’s normally extremely focused but didn’t think anything of it. Once he got to the run part where I was waiting for him, I gave my phone to a random spectator next to me and asked them to take pictures as he was Coming by. I thought he was going to keep running and it would just be me on the side with my thumbs up with him coming up behind running. But he stopped, I actually thought he was hurt and was trying to get my phone back from the random person but he kept asking her to take pictures. That’s when he got the ring out of his running shorts pocket and got down on one knee. I was extremely surprised and it’s really nice because my entire reaction was captured in pictures.

I got engaged at home and it was PERFECT. Sean, my now DH, moved in with me and my older cranky dog (Gus) really soon after dating. Sean bought a house and asked us to move in with him. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to me, Sean had been teaching my dog my name and the command "Go see Julie!" Sean chose to practice this by sending my dog on journeys to see me when I was in the shower (annoying man) amd we'd always Crack up. New Years Eve Day (12/31/18) I come home from getting coffee and Sean and GusGus are crouched down on the other side of the room. Sean says "Go see Julie!" Gus sheepishly looks back as though to say "Are you sure about this, bro?" Sean repeats the command and my fuzzy baby trots over with the ring box around his collar. I am shaking as I open up the box, Sean comes over to kiss me and I stop him with "Aren't you gonna ask me something??" He did. Laughter, tears, and all of the feels.

My story is almost identical!! I was also on a family trip with my siblings in the DR and they all took turns taking pictures in front of a fountain and he then asked me to take a picture with him. When I hugged him for the picture I clearly remember resting my head on his chest and hearing his heart beat so fast. I was worried for him because he does have a heart condition and I asked him and that's when he got on one knee. He always says he blacked out because he was so nervous but only remembers when he asked me I responded "of course" so now it's our inside joke.

He did it at the Christmas tree farm when we were picking out our tree. It’s my favorite holiday tradition and I always make a big deal of it. We had our dog and we were all wearing matching red plaid. Once I found the tree I wanted, we squatted down to take a picture with the dog and when I got up he stayed down and pulled the ring out. I was completely shocked and SO happy!

We got engaged in England at the top of the waterfall at the gardens of Alnwick castle! It’s the castle where they filmed quidditch for Harry Potter as well as downtown abbey! The most perfect moment. His parents were there too, and his mom and i were both crying🥺
