Honeymoon Fund?

Emma, on June 18, 2019 at 5:06 PM Posted in Registry 1 17

My fiancee and I want to add a honeymoon fund to our registry. So far I am only seeing ones that you have to set certain amounts for people to give. I don't want that. I want people to be able to set the amount they give. What have you used?

(Our website is through wedding wire so we want it to be compatible.)

Thanks for the help!

The Knot has a version of a honeymoon fund in which guests can pick their amounts!

Do you know if The Knot will let you put it on a wedding wire site though?

After checking, it doesn't look compatible Smiley sad BUT, Wedding Wire support "Honeymoon wishes" and according to their FAQ section.. "When you set up your Honeymoon Wishes registry, we suggest gift amounts for each tour or activity per person per area. However, you’re free to ask for whatever you’d like and can break down the amounts any way you choose."

Thanks. I might use this as an option. I don't know just saying how much people can send seems kinda bad in my opinion.

We used The Knot as well. Their Honeymoon Fund lets you gift as much as you’d like and also does not charge you a fee when you go to cash it out. Most other honeymoon funds do. Unfortunately, I don’t think you can attach it to your WW website.

We used The knot, but our guests didn't use it at all. They all transferred directly to our accounts or brought cash to the wedding.

Zola is amazing and has the cheapest fees! There is an option for guests to contribute any amount they wish, as well as the option to itemize things. However, you have to copy and paste the hyperlink to your registry on your Wedding Wire website in order to share it on there since there is not a way to link it otherwise. It's super easy to do though! Smiley smile

If you use honeyfund, they do have an option for guests to give what they feel comfortable with, but if you add other options it shoves that to the bottom of the list from what I can tell

As for adding it to your wedding wire site, if it's not "compatible" you can always insert the link/create a hyperlink. Just type a world like "Registry" or "Honeyfund", then highlight it, and click the "add link" option in the editing stuff, & paste your link there for a simple click-redirect

I recently switched ours to Zola which has been amazing. Not sure if its compatible with WW or not though.

I am thinking this is the option I am going to have to go with.

    Thank you.

I figure this is probably going to be the case with my wedding as well. I have a normal registry, but since the majority of my guests live very far and probably wont come I thought this would be a nice add.

This is good to know. Thank you. I may just do that. I don't like the places wedding wire suggested for funds.

That's a good idea I hadn't thought of that. It will also make it more subtle which could be nice as well.

That's what I thought, and what I did as well. My FH and I are registered on both amazon & honeyfund, and having that huge-o amazon section show on the site felt like it was just too much
