Gratuity and feeding vendors

My caterer has a 21% gratuity. I was informed that on top of that, the servers for the buffet are expecting to be fed. Is this etiquette? It seems like a bit much. We are having a small wedding of 55 people.

Hi Julianna! Typically the vendors that you need to provide dinner for are the ones who are working all day for you (wedding planner, photographer, videographer, etc.) - but my band also needed meals for all of the members and their crew because they'd be working through dinner. That might be the same case for your servers!
I'd check your contract with the catering company to make sure that this has been clearly outlined, and inquire about the pricing of vendor meals (which are typically cheaper than guest meals)!
