Gift Timing

I started getting gifts once shower invites went out.

Probably once you send out invites.

People usually purchase gifts for the shower and/or for the wedding day. If you are not having a shower, then most likely they will wait until closer to your wedding. However, it sounds like from your recent post that you may be rethinking the wedding? If so, your guests may also be waiting to see if you move forward with your wedding plans.

I had more gifts come moreso closer to the wedding

I definitely think this is a know your crowd thing more than anything. If it was in my social circle, and you weren’t having a shower, you probably wouldn’t receive the gifts on your registry. Everyone in our circle sends or brings money as a gift for the wedding and only buys physical gifts for the shower.

We didn't receive anything until the invites for the bridal shower went out. Some people sent gifts if they weren't able to make it to the shower

If there is not going to be a shower, how do your guests even know the registry exists as you don’t normally include that on the wedding invites. Also, I feel like most of the time at the actual wedding, the main gifts are cards with money rather than physical gifts.

You probably won't get any gifts until the wedding if you aren't having a shower.

So i actually just received my first gift but it was from a coworker who wasn't even invited to the wedding. He just decided to get it for us because hes a long time friend. our wedding is a DW so I have a feeling we probably won't receive any gifts till a lot closer to the wedding or people will opt to do a card with cash to make it easier. It really is a know your crowd though. Sometimes people who are invited and RSVP no will send a gift still and if they choose too those would probably be your first ones you receive.

You will most likely have to wait till the wedding.
