Florist costs in the Boston, ma area?

Anna, on August 5, 2019 at 1:56 PM Posted in Massachusetts Planning 1 9
Hi All-

I am getting married in May and I’m trying to figure out my budget for florists. We’re getting married outside of Boston so I know that means things will be a bit more expensive since it’s a big city. I was hoping to spend no more than $1500 on flowers (bride bouquet, 3 maid of honor bouquets, 10 low table centerpieces, and some decorative flowers for the ceremony). After speaking with a few vendors, I think my budget is too low and was hoping to figure out what would be a reasonable budget.

Does anyone have experience with a Boston area wedding with a floral budget of $2000. If so, what did you do? It would also be super helpful to know what people generally spend in big cities on flowers for a smaller wedding (100 people).

Any advice on florist pricing is much appreciated.

Thanks!

So I’m not in Boston but I’m in California which is also very expensive. We spent $275 on my bouquet, $100 per bridesmaid bouquet, and $160 per centerpiece.

I’ve heard flowers from a grocery store are cheaper. But yeah from a florist that specializes in weddings in a high cost of living area it will be expensive. Good luck!

I’m also in Boston and found it really difficult to find someone that was willing to work with our budget. If you haven’t already, check out Centre piece designs in Brighton, we were able to work with Bridget to come up with options that worked in our budget, without compromising much. The final total is coming to ~2500 for 14 centerpieces, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, 5 groomsman boutiners, 2 moms, 1 dad, 1 officiant, then me and FH, and some additional small arrangements.

I will say she has been fantastic to date, but we are still about 5/6 weeks from the wedding so I can’t give you a full review just yet!

    Hi Anna,

I'm not sure if you decided on a florist, but we are using Karla Cassidy Designs. She's based in the Salem area but extremely accommodating and works with you! I had a budget of $2K as well for a 130 ppl wedding. Her pricing was the best I'd seen around Boston, and she does great work!

Thanks so much! We ended up going with Bridget from Centrepiece Designs.
