I happen to be going back and looking at my wedding pictures recently and always find my favorite picture to be my husband’s reaction to seeing me during our first look. For those of you that have done a first look I would love to see your pictures. Let’s share those for the brides to be so they can see what they have to look forward to. Below is my picture ❤️
Do all of you recommend first looks? Or did you wish you went the traditional route of your future spouse seeing you for the first time as you walked down the aisle?
Everyone has to choose for themselves, but I was personally very happy we chose to do a first look, for several reasons. I feel like the biggest determining factor (other than the practicality of scheduling) should be whether you want your first look to be a private moment or a public one. The first time you see each other will be special no matter where it takes place, so it makes sense to give some thought to where and how you want it to happen and then go for it.
And regarding "tradition", waiting to see each other until walking down the aisle is only traditional in some cultures. I am Jewish and it is traditional for the couple to see each other before the ceremony.

I’m so happy we did a first look. It gave us that little bit of time to really just stay in the moment with each other. I don’t think it took away from when I walk down the aisle because he was still just as happy.
