Dating for 3 years, engaged for one, and over half that time spent apart. Distance does make the heart grow fonder. Over his deployments we learned pretty quickly to love and appreciate each other, when we took each other for granted before. We have been through so much, while we can’t promise to have a perfect marriage we can promise to try our best every day to never take each other for granted again. We didn’t get exactly the wedding we wanted or the one we were planning, but we did get an intimate ceremony with our moms and lots of love in our hearts. It wasn’t “perfect” in the way I would have imagined but it was the best day of my life. We’re gonna enjoy our week long staycation together, good luck to everyone else still planning.
