Engagement shoot attire

Wear whatever you like and you feel beautiful in! I've seen engagement shoots where the couple is dressed up in fancy clothes and others where they are in jeans and t-shirts. The things that shines through is the love the couple has. Wear stuff that represents you as people and as a couple.

We wore one casual outfit and one more formal outfit. I would recommend a solid color rather than a print because prints can sometimes look rather busy which would be distracting.

I’d stay away from patterns. A simple shift dress or jeans and a white blouse would be perfect.

I'd first go with fabrics and colors you feel the most confident and comfortable in! I would also stay away from patterns. Most photographers prefer solid colors because patterns can sometimes distort the photo.

I'd also ask your photographer! They know what will work best in the setting you'll be in, as well as the time of day. They're pretty knowledgeable on what looks best on camera too, so def. ask them what they would suggest.

If you're allowed 2 outfits for your session, then I'd go with a simple dress for a dressier option, then go with jeans and a nice blouse for the more casual look.

We did a winter photo shoot, but I wore a solid colored sweater and jeans. My FH wore a flannel shirt, but it wasn't like a busy flannel shirt. Our photographer advised us against busy patterns. Another tip she gave us was to not match completely, but choose outfits that complement each other. So we both wore jeans and I matched my sweater to his shirt.

If you want to dress up, make sure your FH is going to be coordinated with you so one person isn't really dressed up and the other dressed down.

Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel good! If you are uncomfortable in your outfit, it will show.

Thank you for the advice- I definitely need it- I was going towards floral print, now I know solids will be better😀
