Engagement pictures ?

That’s pretty early to send save the dates. It’s ok to take engagement photos though!

I agree, I'd send the save the dates out maybe around a year in advance of your wedding date since you have a lot of guests coming in internationally, and that should give them enough time to plan ahead and start looking into flights and such. Now is a great time to take the engagement photos though! Congratulations on your engagement!

I sent my STD to my family overseas when we were about a year out, which should give people plenty of time.

You can take engagement pictures at anytime. I think now is a good time since a lot of photographers have a lot of availability since a lot of wedding are postponed. Our wedding is January of 2022 and we had engagement pictures done last month. We’re planning on sending our Save the Dates in February, because that’s when people can start booking hotel rooms. We don’t have any international guests, but most are a couple of hours away in the next state.

You can take your engagement photos whenever you want. However, I would not send your save the dates until a year out, at the earliest, for our international guests.

I agree with what everyone else is saying, but I'd suggest taking the pictures now! It's fun and really helped us celebrate getting engaged!
