Engagement Photos

We just took our engagement photos yesterday! Can't wait to get them back.

Only thing I wish we would've done differently is scheduling later in the year so it wouldn't be so hot. My poor FH was in khakis and a long-sleeve button down w/ a tie and was sweating like crazy!

Our photographer was really great in coordinating the poses (we had no clue what to do lol). I would just be honest with your photographer if there is a certain look you're going for.!

We put a lot of faith in our photographer (for poses, locations, etc.) and she really came through, so I'd definitely say to trust your photographer. We did two outfits, which I really wanted to do, as well as two separate locations, and I liked the way that made it look and feel like two separate shoots. We also brought our dog along for the last bit of the shoot, and that personal touch was really amazing.

I say do something that shows your personality and is fun for you guys

My biggest piece of advice is to keep each other laughing! FH accidentally ripped a hole in my leggings during our engagement shoot and we got some funny photos from that

Thank you for asking this, because I'm so nervous about mine! I can't remember the last time I took professional photos except as a bridesmaid. And when I get nervous my head/neck stiffens up, it's ridiculous. Someone's advice to me was to have a mimosa or two before the shoot (if you drink, of course). I think I'm going to take that advice.

I am nervous too! I used to think I was comfortable in front of a camera...the last time I had pictures taken I was a senior in high school and I felt so awkward! Which was weird for me because I am super outgoing. I think having a drink before will be much needed. Thank you for the suggestion!

We had ours yesterday and just got our teasers. Trust your photographer and have fun. Ours asked us to do some really strange things, like shout our favorite curse word or whisper names of cereals in the other’s ear in the sexiest voice possible. The point was almost always to get us laughing and we got some amazing photos from things I didn’t think would work. The key was not taking it too seriously.
