Engagement Photo Outfits

Lisa, on May 28, 2020 at 10:17 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9
We finally get to take our engagement photos in a couple weeks from now!! We are doing two different outfits - one casual and one dressy. I already have a casual outfit in mind, though I am struggling with what colors I should pick for the dressy outfit. My tentative casual outfit has both olive green and white. Our pictures are going to be at a winery and also in a woodsy setting. Does anyone have any suggestions of what colors might go well with either of those settings for a dressy outfit? Would a patterned dress be better, or a solid color?

A solid color would look best for photos, especially if you’re having your fiancé in anything patterned.

I wore a long burgundy dress in our “fancy” photos that were taken last spring in the woods and the colors came out beautifully. Wear something that you feel comfortable in! I love how burgundy looks on me so it worked out well for us.
We took more photos in the fall and we both wore more autumnal colors - burnt orange and dark green.

Great color suggestion, and great picture!! The burgundy looks really pretty in a forest setting. I agree that the solid color seems to make more sense than a pattern. Thank you for your help, much appreciated!!

We took pictures similar to your colors.

I loved the blush and navy look. My dress is from LuLus. I definitely recommend something flowy and solid as it photographs better. And if it has a slit it will allow you to get more shape.

I think a solid dark color will look best! Something like burgundy as was already mentioned, or a charcoal grey maybe.

Charcoal grey would be a good color too! Good idea! It seems that solid colors are more popular as compared to patterns, so I will start looking for a solid color dress. Thank you for the advice!

I'm a BIG fan of mustard yellow. I wore a black shirt and a mustard yellow cardigan for my engagement photos, with jeans and boots- they came out GREAT.

Burgundy would also look very cute.

Yellow would definitely be visible against the green leaves/vines! Good spring/summer color too. I'm glad to hear your pictures turned out well! Thank you for the advice!
