My wife and I have been together for 9 years, and we were supposed to have our wedding on the 7th this month. Clearly that didn’t happen, with the corona virus we felt it wouldn’t be a good idea to drag the entire family out. My grandma is pretty fragile health wise, and Rei’s family is just massive.
What we did was had us, our officiant, and our parents do a very short ceremony, signed the papers, and that’s it. We had our dads sign as our witnesses because of the tradition of the father giving away the bride. Afterwards my wife and I went went around the art museum. It was really nice! I’m glad we did it. It is such a weight lifted to be married.
We still plan on having a ‘wedding’ for our family and friends when all the COVID stuff is over with and it is safe to get together. But who knows when that’ll be at this point, so I am not going to worry too much about it until the time comes. (I’m the short one, Rei is the tall one)
