Early Bachelorette Party

Elizabeth, on August 23, 2020 at 12:53 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9
I was supposed to get married May 15, 2020. Due to COVID, I had to move my wedding twice. The new date is February 27, 2021. Since we were supposed to have my bachelorette party this past spring, my maid of honor bought all spring/summer stuff for the party. She mentioned having an end of summer bachelorette party and I thought that’d be a fun idea. We settled on a weekend at a lake house on August 28. My question is - is this too early or will it look weird? I feel funny celebrating when we still have 6 months to go. I didn’t think much of it until one of my friends made a comment about it to me. Now I don’t even want to do anything at this point.

Eh who cares? LOL I would not think it is odd having a bachelorette party 6 months before a wedding. I mean why not? Times have changed and this time is a very odd one. I say go for it.

It’s not weird at all. There’s no rule that says you MUST have it in a certain time period. Especially during this pandemic. Nothing is “traditional” anymore it seems

I agree with the previous comments - especially with COVID causing so many plans to change, I don't think it would be weird at all to have your bachelorette party 6 months ahead of time. If you don't want to do it that soon, you could ask to have the date changed to closer to your wedding date, but that's totally up to you.

I don’t find it weird. I think you should celebrate these events while you can because things are changing every day and who knows what will happen in the months leading up to your wedding.

I don’t think it’s weird. I was thinking about doing a bachelorette in spring even though my wedding is in fall. I want to go somewhere warm so ideally would like to leave Wisconsin (where I live) when it’s cold so April sounds perfect to me. Also because I have so many weddings during “wedding season” due to postponements that I would rather do my Bach trip early so I don’t have to worry about too much travel in a short time frame.

There has never been any hard and fast rule that it has to be the day/week before the wedding. Have your hostesses do it whenever works out bests for everyone.

We are doing this LDW (assuming all are still healthy by then). It'll be 7 months before the wedding instead of 1. Not what I wanted, but what can you do?
