Disney Honeymoon Registry

Kelly, on December 6, 2018 at 3:29 PM Posted in Registry 0 16

Has anyone used the Disney Honeymoon Registry?

Did it work well and was the percentage of money they take as a service fee worth it?

What were some things you liked and disliked about it?

I haven't done it but I've heard that pretty much any sort of registry for money takes money off the top. Read the fine print for sure.

Every honeymoon fund takes a cut. Or else, how would they make any money?

But you could have found this out just by going to the FAQ on their website...

Commenting to follow- we are also considering using a travel agent as a registry, one we met recently said your family can purchase things directly through the agency such as dinner gift cards, experiences and other stuff and then she purchases those items with their payment to her.

The Knot's Newlywed Fund allows you to "register" for honeymoon funds and they don't have any fees. Guests pay a 2.5% fee on credit card transactions which is simply the fee that the credit card companies charge for processing.

My Fiancé and I are using this. So far, so good. The fees are a little steep, but it's a nice way for guests to be able to choose what they want to give us that we'll actually use. We're not going for our honeymoon, but are going to take a trip there next year.

My FH and I aren't taking a honeymoon right after the wedding. We are actually going to take our kids (from previous marriages) to Disney on a family trip a couple months after the wedding. I didn't know that Disney offered a registry, I will have to take a look at that!

We are doing this for our honeymoon. Setting it up was easy but my biggest fear is not being able to withdraw the funds in time for our honeymoon. We leave a week from the wedding...

We did the Disney Honeymoon registry and we left for our Disney World honeymoon two days after our wedding. We LOVED IT! Our guests also thought it was really awesome and unique. Instead of a "Honeymoon Fund" the registry is about experiences. You register for different experiences around Disney World and your guests purchase it for you. They send the money via ACH, so it's in your bank account usually within 24 hours. We were married on a Saturday, and left for our honeymoon EARL EARLY Monday morning. We transferred the funds Thursday and they were there Friday. Although they are selecting experiences for you, really what they are giving you is money. You are not able to book or make reservations via the Honeymoon registry. You need to do those yourself. We made sure we did everything people bought for us, took pictures and sent them to the people who gifted it to us. I recommend the DHR to any bride doing a Disney World Honeymoon!

It is all of the Disney even the cruise, yes and it is really nice. Me and FH has been trying to decide if that is what we want to do instead of receiving gifts have everyone do the Disney registry instead.

We are doing a Disney Honeymoon Registry as well! We don't need stuff since we've lived together for awhile, and thought it would be more polite to ask for experiences rather than money
