Bed Bath and Beyond items for registry

Melissa, on November 17, 2018 at 10:55 AM Posted in Registry 0 13
Going today to do my registry. I haven’t planned out what to put in their. Not sure if I need a plan or if I should just wing it. . Any tips or insights into good items to put on a registry from BBB?

Talk with their people. They give great advice. We downloaded their app and it gives recommendations on what to put on.

Let us know how it goes! I’m curious if they do it the old style where they give you a hand gun and you can walk around and scan items or if you have to do everything online. I emailed them but never heard back

We got a gun. But you can also add things through the camera on your phone through the app. Or you can do it online too. Lol

Thanks so much for letting me know. You gotta love technology! I was explaining to FH when it goes to things like towels or bedsheets I’d rather add in person. It’s easier for me to look at items in person vs online, same with FH.

I'm the same way! Make sure you go to a good sized bbb. The one closest to me is OK but their registy is like in a closet. The one we ended to going to had much more space with examples of place settings and glasses and plates etc. We also called and made an appointment. Their registy sales people are also cashiers and help on the floor so it's a courtesy to have an appointment time. I called at noon and said we could come at 5 that same day and provided the name of who we would work with.

Great tip, thank you! Much appreciated. We are going to probably hold off until January since this is probably one of their busiest seasons of the year LOL.

I called the one by my house that just got remodeled and they said I could come after five as they are slammed right now. I figured better to do this now then between the holidays. My shower is end of January and my sister in law wants to make sure that’s where I’m registered before she puts it on the invitation.

We started ours online but will be going to the store to finish for sure. I would definitely take some time and take stock of what you already have, what you dont, and what you want to replace or upgrade. For us, we moved in together a few years ago and all of our stuff is getting old and worn out because we bought the cheap stuff. So we are registering to replace a lot. Also, make sure when you register that it's something you are actually going tonuse/want. Qe didn't register for fancy China dishes because we would never use them. We love to entertain though so we decided to get a really nice set of everyday dishes that will still look awesome on a holiday table! Have fun!

Meet with their consultants! There’s a reason why they’re there!

We went into the store and had a registry consultant help us and I really recommend it! The only thing I’d caution is they can get really pushy. I went into it knowing I was going to register for dishes and silverware at Crate & Barrel and bedding at Pottery Barn so I didn’t let her try to push those things on me. But she was helpful in giving opinions on brands because I wanted quality stuff that was going to last!

I started our registry online with things I knew I wanted. My FH had no interest with helping me figure out what to register for. I ended up going in store randomly and basically no one was in the store so I got their gun and just went around the store. The associate just told me what to do and let me go on my own. They didn’t pressure me into looking at anything.

So...we went last night and had a really nice consultant help us. She followed us around the store but kept her distance Her insights and suggestions were helpful, especially with products that were the most popular or ones that get returned a lot.

The one thing I didn’t realize was that it was a two hour process! She suggested close to 250 items be scanned, but we only got to about 160. After a while it was difficult to find things to scan believe it or not. We just moved in together February of last year so most of our stuff is new.

    Tips:
-definitely go with a list of ideas of what you want
    - measure things out ahead of time or decide on colors
    - ask for suggestions on products you are unsure of. The pots and pan section was a little overwhelming but once I told her nonstick then she pointed me to the best brand.
    - don’t forget to add attachments or accessories to things.
    - wear comfortable shoes, clothes, and consider locking your purse in your trunk (my purse was so heavy by the end).

i can also go back online and take away or add items. And they gave me a free gift - two coffee mugs that say Love is Brewing!

    Happy shopping!

We registered on Honeyfund and for a few items at Macy's and BBB. In addition to the few items we really needed (new baking sheets, kitchen towel/potholder sets) I found it easier to wander the store to remind me what they had. I also researched a few of the items online to see which had best ratings on cookware.

Omg, if we didn't already have a coffee maker, I would have registered for a Keurig or something and some coffee packs because those machines are great.

Tip: add a lot of smaller items ($10-$20) too like linens, salt and pepper shakers, individual utensils, because some guests like to mix & match and get you small items. We also had a few friends of my parents who weren't invited send us small gifts.
