We’ve been married for almost two months and I’ve been procrastinating posting – I think b/c I loved being engaged, loved planning, and loved our wedding and don’t want it to be over! (And yes, I love being married too).
Everyone says that your wedding day goes by so fast. I don’t think it went by fast - there just wasn’t enough time, even 24 hours wouldn’t have been long enough to see everyone and celebrate the occasion!
They also say that something will go wrong on your wedding day. I was wondering what it would be and I figured it would be the photographer not showing up since he basically ghosted us before the wedding. Well, he showed up, and what actually went wrong was that my seamstress didn’t sew in half of my bra for my plunge front, strapless, low back dress. I ended up cutting out the one cup she did sew in, and wearing a strapless backless stick on bra I wore to the rehearsal dinner the night before. (Which was a miracle it worked b/c I tried on ten bras, including that one, at my fittings and it didn't.) Crisis averted, but I think it cut into picture time b/c we are missing some must have shots. Either that or our photographer is lazy. Probably a little of both.
That said, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a DOC if you can budget for it. We were lucky enough to find someone starting her own business, who was less than the others, and she was WONDERFUL. She took care of small to big things including: telling guests where to go, keeping things on time, coordinating vendors, handling a parent that wanted to change everything the day of, an Aunt who wanted to rearrange seats and make my mother sit with her back to the head table and dance floor (who does that?!), handling people that RSVPd no and showed up, as well as empty chairs for people that RSVPd yes and no showed, moved things from ceremony to reception, made sure the overall look was what we had envisioned, AND MORE.
Pics below, and I’ll post our budget too!
TY WW for helping with any questions we had along the way!
