covid friendly rehearsal dinner

Nikki, on January 13, 2021 at 9:32 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9

Hello my lovely brides!

Our rehearsal dinner space just called us and canceled since they are no longer hosting large parties at their restaurant. We are looking for alternative options as most restaurants in our area (Annapolis, MD) are not taking group reservations now.

Any unique suggestions? We are considering just not having the rehearsal dinner and just rehearsing with our wedding party and hanging out at the venue.

Thanks!

Not sure how fancy you want it, but it is possible to just order some pizzas or something easy to order carry out for, and have it at the venue?

If you're all staying at a hotel, you could call and ask the hotel if they would allow you to have it there! My FBIL and his wife did this and had drinks and small bites in the hotel lobby's bar area!

Our venue is actually my FMIL's house. So we were trying to stay away from hosting any dinner there prior to the big day.

But I love the hotel lobby idea!! We were aiming for casual anyways and that might be a good alternative. Thanks! Smiley smile

We were in the same boat last year. We called a private yacht club (typically you need a membership) and they accepted us! They had an outdoor area on the water we used. We rented tent, chairs, etc. and hired a steel drum soloist. A clam bake on the water would be fun!

I live in Crofton, MD and the country club here appears to be still hosting events. There have been numerous times where I've driven by and large white tents are sent up outside. There are also always a ton of cars outside. They allow non-members to host events there. Crofton is about 30 minutes from Annapolis. I don't think it would hurt for you to reach out to see if they will host a rehearsal dinner and if so how much it would cost.

A majority of rehearsal dinners are pizza and beer so get them from a delivery place you like at a space large enough hold that many (someone's backyard?)

My loved ones wont even dine inside so it would be a no go for the rehearsal dinner for me.
