Come and Gone

Carlin, on October 10, 2022 at 3:24 PM Posted in Married Life 0 4
Now that the wedding has come and gone I really don’t know what to do with myself not sure how many feel that way since couple prior months were all about getting ready. I mean we haven’t even gone on our honeymoon yet not sure how many of you had put yours off. But we’re planning on doing a mini moon where we’ll go out and see my MIL whose 94 and couldn’t make it to the wedding for she is bed ridden and have a mini party with her and her friends. Other than that I’m bored 😐 and just wondering how it could just come and go like that you know?

It definitely goes by quick! It's also a weird feeling to go from being crazy busy and planning a huge event, to suddenly having nothing to do at all. The minimoon sounds like a great idea! Something else that's wedding related that you could do (if you're still wanting to think about your wedding) is put together a scrapbook of photos from your wedding day, or write down your memories from the day in a journal, or plan a bigger honeymoon for later, write thank you notes to guests, submit reviews for your vendors, reply to discussions on these forums, etc. Non-wedding related things you could do with your new spouse to help fill the time is read books (or join a book club), watch movies, do house projects/renovations (if you own a house, or if not and if you plan to buy one, you could start doing some research on that), reach out to friends and plan some nights out, go bowling, start watching a new TV series, etc. Find things to do that will take your mind off of being bored. Congratulations on your recent wedding!

Yes! I felt the same way. Like, what do I do now?
I started putting together our photo album once our pictures were received. That was a good project.

That’s a nice gesture to visit your MIL. You can also work on your “thank you” notes.

Literally felt like this! I wanted to have our wedding again because I wanted to do something. Nobody told me how quick it goes by. However, I am in my last semester of grad school so I have been a bit busy. But, all wedding stuff is over, so I definitely get it!
