Chicago Chair Rental for Outdoor Ceremony

Maggie, on September 9, 2020 at 10:29 AM Posted in Illinois Planning 0 1

Hi everyone!

I have a two-part question for Chicagoans.

1. I'm planning my wedding for July 2022 and I've started looking into the cost of renting chairs for an outdoor ceremony in Chicago. I'm planning on renting a 2-hour time slot at a public park for the ceremony only. I've received two quotes for chair rentals, and both of them quoted me $800 for the cost of delivery, setup, and breakdown alone for 75 chairs. Is this pretty normal for Chicago, or is there a cheaper rental company I haven't found yet? Right now renting the chairs will cost more than renting the venue!

2. My wedding date is July 9th, 2022. While I grew up in Chicago, I haven't been back in four years. I'm worried my memory has grown short and I'm underestimating the intensity of the summer humidity. Do you think a summer wedding ceremony at about 5pm in July would be too hot/humid for guests (and me) to be comfortable? Of course it's impossible to say what the weather will be, but I wouldn't want anyone to suffer just so I can have an outdoor ceremony.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Hi Maggie! What was the breakdown on the quote you got? How much per chair, and how much were the set-up & delivery fees? I know that chairs can easily rent for over $6 per chair!

There's some helpful pricing information you can check out about rentals here:
