Curious about what anyone else has done here. Currently my email is firstname.lastname@ gmail.com. I’m planning on making my maiden name my middle name after we get married and taking my fiancé’s last name. Did anyone create a new email address to match their new name? Why or why not?

note: my work email address is separate entirely, and honestly my gmail account is getting so overrun with wedding spam so starting over might not cause too much inconvenience. Oh, and my future sister in law have the same first name so that makes things even more confusing 😂

I did, and will be setting my old email to forward to my new email. Then I'll set autoresponses for my old email to state my new email!

I created mine shortly after we got engaged just to have the name saved and ready to go 😂 plus, with all the wedding emails, spam, etc. I wanted a fresh start with a new email!

This is why I still use my embarrassing email that I made when I was 13 and doesn't mention my name. LOL! But in all seriousness, my work email will just remain with my old last name because basically the entire business runs out of it and it would be a GIANT PIA to change.

I'll probably keep my current one for now. I have so much information under that email address it would stress me out to change it lol. Also my first name and my FH last name are both super common so every combination of it is like already taken anyway

I'll make a new one with my new game. Hardly anybody emails me personally anyway lol plus I don't empty my inbox on my current email enough sho it's kind of full lol

I'm definitely creating a new email with my new last name. I'm excited to start over actually considering I've had my current one for a LONG time, and I used to never read my emails, so I have such a cluttered inbox.

I am in the same boat! I actually didn’t listen to everyone on WW’s advice about setting up a new email for wedding related stuff and get so much spam from vendors. I figured I would just create a new one and slowly transition to only using that.

The day after he proposed I made an account with ****************@*****.*** lol. My current email is my last name but it's a PAIN to spell out to people, so I'm excited to use the new one after we're married!

I also made an email specifically for wedding stuff, ********************@*****.***. It's been wonderful, because i can also save venues in lists on my google maps under that amount and save rate sheets and menus on the Google drive.

I created a wedding email, but still use the same email with my maiden name, we got married 3 months ago. I’ll probbaly create a new one eventually. I should probbably donit sooner than later since I’m job searching.
I haven’t run into any problems using it.
