Changing my name

Kelci, on September 14, 2019 at 2:54 PM Posted in Married Life 0 6
What is the easy way to go about changing my name? I’ve heard of hitch switch. Has anyone used it?

Seems like a waste of money to me. I plan to just do it the old fashioned way, on my own.

That’s what I’m starting to think as well. It’s just so hard to get to ss office with working full time

Hitch switch only gives you the papers that you can get for free at all those offices. They don’t actually change your name for you.

The courthouse I got our marriage license from included the paperwork to change my name, I just have to pay the fee and turn in the papers after the wedding.

You can’t use an online service to change your name with social security. They need to see your photo id and marriage certificate. If you can’t go in person you can mail it in, but you have to mail in the actual photo Id and marriage certificate and the ss-5 application.
