byo catering Ceremony and reception venue

Denika, on December 5, 2018 at 5:16 PM Posted in Illinois Planning 0 5

Hi!

I need a little help. So I'm a foodie and I've always imagined having my favorite food at my wedding. Which I've had them picked since the moment I first ate there and they do weddings and provide staff(Yay!) So my problem has been finding a venue in chicago and the vicinity that allows outside catering. We have 100 people and a budget of max 6k and that's just for the space.

I'm fine with BYOB but my caterer doesn't provide drink or bartender services. So this really isnt crucial to me either way. I'm also hoping for a quirky location but i know wedding venues in the city are all starting to look alike especially within my budget. Sorry I'm rambling now. Thanks you guys!

Can you ask your caterer what venues they’ve worked with in the past?

Hi Denika!! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!! Smiley ring Kelly has an awesome point. You're first step should be asking your caterer where they've worked in the past. That'll give you an idea of what sort of places they cater to and it'll give you a list of venues you know work with them. Smiley smile What cuisine is your caterer providing for your wedding?

If I recall correctly the Chicago Park District allows outside catering for all of their venues. Willis Tower does as well but it has to be a caterer on their list.

Hi guys! Thanks for the feedback. My vendor is kind of laid back and it mostly caters parties like birthdays, holidays, corporate etc. Its a really casual bbq place, with mac, chili, salad, brisket, rib, sausage, and chicken options( still working on the vegetarian options, because one of my aunts is a vegetarian) so I think they may not have any usual venue that they work with. I'll ask if they have a detailed list. I know for a fact that they have done weddings at Emporium, a local arcade bar.

Okay, an arcade bar? That sounds amazing, I would love to get married at a barcade! Have you and your caterer figured out a vegetarian option? And have you found a venue for your wedding?
