I'm a little confused as to what you're referring to. Can you clarify? Like when I think bridesmaid box are you saying they're bridesmaid gift for them being in your bridal party or do you mean you're asking them to be your bridesmaid? As far as I know there's no formal meet-and-greet bridesmaids and grooms. Most Grooms I've ever met was at the rehearsal dinner the day before the wedding.
Are you talking about the gift you give them as a thank you for all their time and support? If so, usually the day before, at the rehearsal, or the day of. And the best idea is to shop for them like it's their birthday. Buy them things that each would individually enjoy. I would shy away from things that say "bridesmaid" or anything on them since they are unlikely to use those in the future.

That's up to you but I've been given a gift that the bridesmaid on the day of as well as the day before but I would definitely do it no sooner than that personally.
We handed out thank you gifts when it was the most convenient. My husband's bachelor party was the Thursday before our wedding so he gave the groomsmen their gifts at the bachelor party. I gave my girls their gifts at different times depending on when I first saw them. For example, I stayed Thursday with my parents at their house and had dinner with my brother (bride' man), his wife (bridesmaid) and my sister (bridesmaid) so I gave them their gifts then. I had the groomswoman's gift so my husband had me give it to her so I gave it to her when she checked into the hotel the night of the rehearsal. I also gave another bridesmaid her gift when she checked into the hotel. My husband's sister (bridesmaid) got her gift after the rehearsal dinner.
Etsy has a ton of great ideas for your bridesmaids. I started getting little things at really great prices. I live in smallish town & they have farmers markets where I scored some earrings for them. The hospital I work at has a gift shop & was having a clearance sale & I scored some specialty soaps- they even had little cars for our ring bearer. The most expensive thing I got for them is some specialty olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
