Bridal Shower

Unless they are invited to wedding they should not be invited to shower is the general rule. You get gifts at the shower so a lot of people see it as asking for gifts but not letting them come to the party. You can do a bridal luncheon and not a gift event if you want to celebrate. Or if you moved in to a new house a house warming party.

Only those invited to the wedding should be invited to the shower. If you’re eloping, I would assume that’s no one or very few people.

I hadn't actually heard of a bridal luncheon. I will let her know. Just myself, my FH, and my grandparents are going to Ireland be our witnesses.

You seem to have already gotten your answer, but yes, you should only hold a gift-giving event such a bridal shower if you will also be inviting these guests to your wedding.

My future mother-in-law has mentioned throwing us a celebration/reception when we get back. We are getting married at Hags Head through the Peach Perfect Weddings company.
